Hide My BF is built so your private content stays private. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

  • Your photos, videos, contacts and call logs are stored in an encrypted vault on your device.
  • We do not run an account system or a server that holds your content.
  • Our on-device AI photo matching runs entirely on your phone; your images are never uploaded for it.
  • Optional cloud backup goes to your own Google Drive, re-encrypted before it leaves the device.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Information stored on your device

To do its job, Hide My BF stores the content you choose to hide — photos, videos, contacts and call logs — inside an encrypted vault on your device. This information is protected by a PIN and/or your device biometrics. It is not transmitted to us.

Permissions we request and why

  • Photos & media — so you can move images and videos into the vault and so on-device matching can find a person's photos in your gallery.
  • Contacts — so you can hide selected contacts in the vault.
  • Call logs — so you can hide selected call history. Where required, the app shows a disclosure and asks for your consent before accessing call logs.
  • Biometrics — to optionally unlock the vault with your fingerprint. Biometric data is handled by your device's secure system and is never seen by the app or by us.

You can decline any permission, and the related feature simply won't be available. Permissions are used only for the purposes described here.

On-device AI

The app uses an on-device machine-learning model to recognize faces and match a person's photos within your own gallery. This processing happens locally on your phone. The photos analyzed are not uploaded to us or to any third party as part of this feature.

Optional Google Drive backup

If you turn on cloud backup, the app re-encrypts your vault on the device and uploads it to a private application folder in your Google Drive account. The backup is readable only with your key. We do not have access to your Drive or to the backup's contents. Your use of Google Drive is also subject to Google's own privacy policy.

Purchases

Premium features are sold through Google Play Billing. Payment and subscription details are processed by Google, not by us. We receive only the information needed to confirm your purchase status.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your vault contents, we do not require an account, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across apps. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and request consent where the law requires it.

Children

Hide My BF is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

Because your content lives on your device, you stay in control: you can remove items from the vault, delete your backup from your Google Drive, and uninstall the app to remove its local data at any time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
