Privacy Policy

The short version

HideMyBF is built so that we cannot see your data. Everything you hide is encrypted with AES-256 on your device and stored locally. We operate no servers that receive your photos, contacts, calls or messages.

Data we do not collect

Your photos, videos, contacts, call logs or messages — these never leave your device unencrypted.
Your PIN or biometric data — your PIN is stored only on your device; biometrics are handled by Android itself.
The identity of any person you choose to hide.

On-device AI

Face matching runs entirely on your phone using TensorFlow Lite and ML Kit. No images are uploaded for analysis.

Google Drive backup (optional, Pro)

If you enable backup, your vault is encrypted on your device first and then uploaded to your own personal Google Drive using permissions you grant. We never receive a copy, and the backup is unreadable without your key. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not see or store your payment details.

Permissions we request and why

Photos & media — to scan, hide and restore items in your gallery.
Contacts, call log, SMS — to hide and restore entries for the people you select.
Biometrics — to unlock the vault with your fingerprint or face (optional).

Permissions are used only for the features above and only on-device.

Analytics & crash reporting

The app may collect anonymous, aggregated crash and performance data to keep it stable. This never includes your hidden content or any personal identifiers tied to it.

Deleting your data

Your data is yours. Restore items out of the vault at any time, use Emergency Wipe to permanently delete the vault, or simply uninstall the app. Backups in your Google Drive can be deleted from your Drive directly.
